St. Kitts and Nevis passport recognized as the most powerful in the Caribbean

For 5 years, the passport of St. Kitts and Nevis has been considered the strongest passport because it provides its owners with the most options. Under the Citizenship by Investment (CBI) program, the document provides foreign investors with visa-free entry to 157 states and favorable conditions for doing business.

St. Kitts and Nevis Passport on the Henley & Partners list

According to the Henley passport index, the passport of St. Kitts and Nevis has moved up one notch in the last year. It took 24th position out of 199 possible. As a reminder, Henley & Partners is the most influential passport index in the investment immigration industry: the company compares passports of the world on the basis of freedom of movement and publishes the results of the assessment.

Compared to the CBI programs of other Caribbean states, the similar program of St. Kitts and Nevis significantly outperforms them. And the former operates under a regional Platinum Standard program. The St. Kitts and Nevis passport outperformed many states, such as Antigua and Barbuda (29th place), St. Lucia (31st), Grenada (33rd), Dominica (34th) and others.

The ranking is based on input from Henley & Partners’ consultants and the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the world’s most comprehensive travel information organization.

The CBI St. Kitts & Nevis program underwent an independent due diligence and met global due diligence standards. The Financial Times International, which covers finance and business, gave the Caribbean passport a score of 10 out of 10.

Benefits of a St. Kitts and Nevis passport under the CBI program

In addition to the possibility of visiting 157 states without a visa, an investor, who has citizenship of St. Kitts and Nevis, receives a number of other benefits:

  • The issuance of a long-term entry permit to the United States. The authorities entitle the immigrant to a B1/B2 visa for the United States, valid for 10 years.
  • Eligibility to conduct international business. New citizens of St. Kitts and Nevis can register their business in the state and cooperate with foreign partners. And the information about the owner at the time of the company establishment shall not be entered into the commercial register.
  • Tax optimization. Participants of CBI program are exempt from the payment of duties on dividends, interest and royalties. In addition, there are no taxes on salaries, inheritance and capital gains.

Les Khan, CEO of the St. Kitts and Nevis Citizenship Investment Unit, emphasized, that the passport offered to foreign investors is truly in a strong position. The authorities continue to pursue a flexible, adaptive and modern immigration policy, following international standards. The government of St. Kitts and Nevis is going to give applicants alternative ways to invest and digitize applications during the COVID-19 pandemic.
